OSGC is one of the most prominent and exclusive golf clubs in New England and has been rated in the top 100 courses in the country.  While its golf course is quite impressive and memorable, the setting of the club and built features are just as appealing. A sense of serene privacy is immediate upon entering the main entrance  off of the oldest operating road in North America, Old Sandwich Road. Fancy landscapes are not so much the hallmark of this club, but more so the integration of built amenities into the landscape and uniqueness of well planned preservation.  A thoughtful site planning approach preserved as many majestic tall Pines as possible while nestling the clubhouse between two preserved woodland cottages and immediately adjacent to a scenic pond making for dramatic and pictureseque views. A natural causeway through the pond creates an awe inspiring start to the first hole especially after crossing over the "Masters" like symbolic stone bridge. Truly an example of a "less is more" approach.
